I’m Mikaela Saint Hilaire — a Graphic Designer with a lifelong passion for visual storytelling. I recently graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Graphic Design, and I’ve since been building my own freelance design business, helping clients bring their ideas to life through creative, impactful design.

I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, where growing up in an international community gave me a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives. I’m open to a wide range of design projects and collaborate fluently in both English and Spanish.

Photography

When I’m not working on design projects, you’ll often find me behind a camera. Photography is one of my favorite creative outlets—it allows me to slow down, observe the world around me, and capture memorable moments that might otherwise be forgotten. Whether I’m documenting my travels, everyday life, or interesting textures and compositions, photography helps me stay inspired and visually curious.

Experience

Virginia Tech Hokie Club Graphic Designer, August 2023 - February 2025

  • Designs digital and print graphics from start to finish for Virginia Tech’s Athletic fund raising department using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop 

  • Contributed to the Hokie Club having a record breaking year of annual fundraising of $22.2 million by designing their promotional material along with a creative team

Swagger Graphic Design Intern, August 2024 - April 2025

  • Designs promotional materials and custom swag for Swagger’s clients using Adobe Illustrator

  • Demonstrates an excellent eye for detail, consistency and accuracy when working with Swagger’s brand guidelines

  • Collaborates on creative solutions mentored by a senior graphic designer to exceed client expectations
